Gathering Spaces Embracing Wooden Decks in Public Area

Wooden floors are renowned for their warm aesthetics, rich textures, and natural hues that evolve with time and weather. Outdoors, wooden surfaces are a popular choice for terraces and communal areas, capitalizing on their inviting qualities to create welcoming spaces for collective gatherings, recreation, and relaxation.

Typically constructed with modular pieces, wooden decks can effortlessly shape artificial landscapes, offering versatile and effective public spaces for various activities. While alternative materials like composite pieces exist, traditional sawn wood decks remain a common choice, often built on a framework structure anchored to the ground through concrete supports. This elevated structure, shielded from ground moisture, comprises perpendicular beams joined by nails, screws, or metal connectors, providing a stable base for the surface boards.

Maintenance is crucial for natural wood components, necessitating varnishing and protection against environmental elements, insects, and wear. Additionally, incorporating gravel for drainage or applying herbicides to prevent weed growth beneath the raised structure can enhance longevity.

Below are several noteworthy projects that utilize wooden decks in public spaces, each fulfilling unique functional and aesthetic objectives:
