Elevate Your Spring Décor with Chic Innovations:5 showstopping Easter tree ideas

With Easter quickly approaching, we find ourselves fully embracing the essence of spring. This holiday marks the onset of the season, bringing forth warmer temperatures, extended daylight, and the blossoming of nature. Among these springtime delights, a new trend has emerged: Easter trees.

This innovative Easter décor concept involves arranging tree branches in a vase and adorning them with Easter-themed ornaments. Much like crafting Easter wreaths, there are various aspects to ponder when designing your Easter tree, ranging from color palettes to branch selection.

Interestingly, the notion of embellishing trees and shrubs with Easter eggs traces back to Germany, where this festive tradition originated. Known as the Ostereierbaum, this centuries-old practice has endured in Germany and neighboring regions.

As we approach holidays like Christmas and Easter, home décor trends take center stage. This Easter, slated for Sunday, March 31st, the spotlight shines on the Easter tree, serving as the pièce de résistance in home displays.

"Decorating your home for Easter is a delightful nod to the arrival of spring," remarks Rachel Fearnley of Rachel Fearnley Designs. "Despite Easter arriving early this year, signs of spring are evident, offering ample inspiration for seasonal decorations. Easter trees present a simple yet chic option to adorn your home. These portable 'trees' can serve as striking centerpieces for your dining table or effortlessly grace a windowsill."

Here's how to style them to achieve maximum impact with your Easter tree display.

1. CHOOSE FLOWERING BRANCHES

Selecting the right branches forms the foundation of your display, so it's essential to make thoughtful choices.

"Seek out branches that strike a balance between flexibility and strength, such as cherry blossom, apple, or pussy willow branches," advises Millie Durbak, the brand manager at Prestige Flowers. "Not only are these varieties visually captivating, but they also provide sturdy support for decorations, preventing any drooping."

She emphasizes, "When selecting branches, consider the size and shape of your vase. Opt for branches that fit comfortably without overcrowding the space. Aim for a diameter of around one to two inches for a harmonious and substantial appearance."

Before arranging your chosen branches in the vase, ensure to give them a fresh cut at an angle to extend their longevity. Additionally, remember to keep them hydrated by placing them in water and regularly changing it.

For those who prefer a more low-maintenance option, faux branches offer a convenient alternative, similar to selecting the best artificial Christmas tree. These are some of our favorite faux branch bunches

2. CRAFT HOMEMADE DECORATIONS

Just as with crafting homemade Christmas decorations, you can also create your own for Easter. Whether utilizing empty eggshells or shaping cardboard into egg silhouettes, eggs traditionally adorn the Easter tree.

Rachel reveals her method for crafting Easter decorations for the festive occasion: "I fashion tiny wreaths from delicate twigs, embellishing them with small flowers crafted from cotton fabric. Suspended from the branches, they sway gently with any breezes that drift through the room."

She elaborates, "Button Easter eggs are another simple yet striking option. Cut out egg-shaped pieces from colored cardboard, then select pastel-colored buttons to either glue or sew onto the cardboard. Join two 'eggs' together, inserting a small piece of ribbon at the top for hanging onto the branch."

3. OPT FOR A PASTEL COLOUR SCHEME

Opting for a cohesive color scheme is key to harmonizing your entire display, and when it comes to Easter, pastels reign supreme.

"Think about establishing a theme for your tree. This not only assists in selecting ornaments but also ensures your tree boasts a unified and refined look. Delicate pastel shades such as blush pink, mint green, and powder blue epitomize the essence of Easter," suggests Millie.

However, if pastels aren't to your liking, you can also opt for colors that harmonize with your existing home decor.

4. CREATE A MINIMALIST DISPLAY

A minimalist approach can be approached in two distinct manners. Following Rachel's lead, one can opt for a sparse selection of decorations for the tree. Alternatively, embracing a minimalist aesthetic entails incorporating neutral tones, clean lines, and unadorned branches. This latter approach is particularly ideal for those aiming to contemporize their Easter tree arrangement.

5. MIX AND MATCH DECORATIONS

An eclectic, mismatched look can work just as well as a minimalist style, it just depends on your personal taste. Mixing and matching various decorations can produce a result that’s both charming and fun.
