Nestled in the heart of Veneto, Italy, the Brotto family's woodworking legacy spans generations in the town of Rosà, just 50 km north of Padua. Since 1966, their expertise has flourished through two distinct entities. Arte Brotto crafts a diverse range of furniture for both contract and private markets, while Foglie d'Oro specializes in crafting bespoke, high-end wooden parquet flooring.
Central to Foglie d'Oro's success is their commitment to responsible wood sourcing. Collaborating with sustainably managed forests, three sawmills in Hungary and Romania provide the raw materials – all 100% FSC certified – ensuring environmental stewardship throughout the supply chain. Proximity to these facilities not only minimizes the carbon footprint but also allows for meticulous oversight of tree felling and reforestation practices.
A critical aspect of Foglie d'Oro's process is the aging of timber. All wood undergoes up to two years of on-site aging before being meticulously dried to optimal humidity levels at the company's Italian headquarters. This essential step guarantees the durability and stability of their wood products over time.
With a vast stock of 50,000 m3 of wood, Foglie d'Oro offers a treasure trove of options for professionals. Their skilled craftsmen utilize ultra-precise cutting machinery to transform raw timber into standardized forms, preserving natural textures and patterns. Hand-planing ensures seamless surfaces, imparting an organic feel unmatched by industrial products.
Further refining the wood involves meticulous sandblasting and CNC milling, culminating in marquetry-like assembly. This deep understanding of wood is central to Foglie d'Oro's artistic direction, allowing their in-house designers to create stunning patterns and effects. Their latest creation, Azalea, combines contemporary flair with nature-inspired designs, featuring brass, marble, or wengé wood inlays that enhance both aesthetics and luminosity.
